Greetings from the 2018 ALZ Research Summit

The Alzheimer’s Germ Quest team met Dr. Maria Carrillo with the Alzheimer’s Association recently at the National Institute of Health’s “2018 Alzheimer’s Research Summit” in Bethesda, Maryland on March 1st. Dr.. Carrillo had just discussed “The Role of Public Advocacy in the Global Fight Against Dementia.”

According to Dr. Norins, “Most presentations describe progress on pinpointing biochemical reactions AFTER some unknown ‘trigger’ is pulled. However about half did then say the immune system got involved. Nobody speculated WHY that happened but Dr. Norins points out this is completely compatible with a germ being involved as trigger or later.”
